Harley Davidson motorcycles may soon become more affordable for buyers in India thanks to changes in import duties and trade agreements with the United States. These motorcycles have traditionally carried high import taxes which made them expensive for Indian buyers. With the possible reduction or removal of these duties under a new India US trade deal the cost of fully built Harley Davidson bikes could decrease significantly.
Even before the trade agreement the Indian government had already reduced import duties on high capacity motorcycles making premium bikes more accessible. These changes are part of broader trade negotiations aimed at lowering tariffs on American products in India. The largest benefits will be seen on imported Harley Davidson models which previously carried the highest taxes while locally assembled models will see smaller price changes.
