Hyderabad police have arrested two individuals in the SR Nagar area for their involvement in a series of motorcycle thefts, bringing relief to residents who had been reporting a rise in such incidents. The arrests were made following a focused investigation after multiple complaints about missing bikes from public parking spots and residential lanes in the locality.
According to officials, the accused were targeting motorcycles parked in poorly lit areas, mostly during late night hours. After stealing the vehicles, they allegedly sold them at throwaway prices to make quick money. Police recovered several stolen bikes from the possession of the accused, which were later handed over to the concerned police station for further legal proceedings.
Investigators revealed that the duo operated with a simple but effective strategy, keeping an eye on unattended two wheelers and moving them quickly to avoid suspicion. The case also drew attention due to the involvement of a young offender, raising concerns about the growing trend of juvenile participation in property related crimes.
Residents of SR Nagar have welcomed the swift action taken by the police and have called for increased patrolling to prevent similar crimes in the future. Many locals also emphasized the need for better street lighting and awareness about securing vehicles with proper locks and safety measures.
