In a heartbreaking incident from Greater Noida a young techie lost his life after his car plunged into a nearly seventy foot deep water filled ditch late at night leaving behind a grieving family and serious questions for authorities.
The incident occurred amid dense fog when visibility on the road was dangerously low. The victim was returning home when his car veered off the road near an under construction stretch and fell into an unbarricaded drain filled with water. Trapped inside the sinking vehicle he managed to make a desperate phone call to his father. In his final moments he pleaded for help telling him that the car had fallen into deep water and that he was drowning. The call disconnected soon after marking the last conversation between a son and his father.
Despite immediate attempts by family members locals and later emergency services the rescue operation was delayed due to darkness fog and the absence of clear markings indicating the hazard. By the time divers and rescue teams could retrieve the vehicle several hours later it was too late.
