2026 Kawasaki Versys 650 Arrives in India With a Premium Touring Focus

The 2026 Kawasaki Versys 650 has officially been launched in India at an ex showroom price of Rs 8.63 lakh, continuing Kawasaki’s steady presence in the middleweight adventure touring segment. With this update, the Versys 650 reinforces its position as a versatile motorcycle designed for riders who want comfort, performance, and long distance capability without stepping into the heavier and more expensive big adventure category.

At the heart of the motorcycle is the familiar 649 cc parallel twin engine that has earned a strong reputation for smooth power delivery and reliability. Producing around 67 bhp and 61 Nm of torque, the engine is tuned for real world usability rather than outright aggression. It is paired with a six speed gearbox that makes highway cruising effortless while remaining friendly enough for city riding. For 2026, the engine is now E20 fuel compliant, aligning with India’s evolving emission and fuel standards and making the Versys 650 more future ready.

In terms of design, the 2026 model carries forward the tall and purposeful stance that defines the Versys family. The upright ergonomics, wide handlebars, and well padded seat are clearly aimed at rider comfort over long distances. A new colour scheme adds a fresh visual touch while retaining the familiar adventure tourer identity that owners have come to appreciate. The adjustable windscreen continues to be a highlight, helping riders tailor wind protection based on riding conditions.

The feature list remains strong for the segment. The Versys 650 comes equipped with a full colour TFT instrument cluster that supports smartphone connectivity, allowing riders to access essential information on the move. Safety and rider confidence are enhanced through Kawasaki Traction Control and dual channel ABS, making the motorcycle more reassuring on varied road surfaces. Long travel suspension and a well balanced chassis contribute to stable handling whether the road is smooth tarmac or slightly broken terrain.

Practicality is another area where the Versys 650 stands out. A large fuel tank supports extended touring range, while generous ground clearance helps the bike tackle rough patches without stress. The riding position is relaxed, making it suitable not only for weekend getaways but also for daily commuting for riders who prefer a tall and commanding motorcycle.
