Bike Dealer Duped As Test Ride Ends In Theft
Now the article, written without subheadings and without dashes
A routine visit to a motorcycle showroom took a shocking turn after an unknown youth fled with a bike worth Rs 1.4 lakh during a test ride. The incident has raised concerns among dealers about the growing misuse of test ride facilities by fraudsters posing as genuine customers.
According to sources, the youth entered the showroom appearing confident and interested in purchasing the motorcycle. He reportedly asked detailed questions about the bike and requested a test ride. Trusting the customer and following usual practice, the showroom staff handed over the vehicle, expecting him to return shortly.
However, the youth failed to return even after a long wait, prompting the staff to grow suspicious. Attempts to contact him proved futile, and the showroom management soon approached the police to report the theft. A case has been registered and an investigation is currently underway.
Police officials are examining CCTV footage from the showroom and nearby areas to identify the suspect and trace the stolen motorcycle. They have also urged dealers to be more cautious while offering test rides, including verifying identity documents and implementing stricter protocols.
