A festive display meant to spread smiles during the holiday season turned into a heartbreaking incident after thieves stole bikes used in a popular Grinch themed window display. The theft has left a local family run business shocked and disappointed as what was created to bring joy to the community became the target of criminal activity.
The bikes were part of a carefully designed Christmas window inspired by the iconic character The Grinch and had become a familiar sight for residents and passersby. For years the display attracted families children and holiday enthusiasts who stopped to admire the creativity and festive spirit. The bikes themselves were not just props but restored machines that held both sentimental and financial value for the owners.
According to reports the thieves struck under the cover of darkness smashing through the showroom window before loading the bikes into a vehicle and fleeing the scene. CCTV footage captured the incident showing how quickly the theft took place leaving little time for intervention. By the time authorities were alerted the bikes were already gone.
The owners expressed deep sadness over the incident stating that the display was never about profit but about giving something special back to the community during Christmas. The loss has raised concerns about security and whether such public displays can safely continue in the future. A reward has now been announced in the hope that members of the public may come forward with information that could help recover the stolen bikes and identify those responsible.
