China has achieved a major milestone in the electric vehicle industry by creating the world largest EV charging network capable of supporting more than forty million electric cars. According to the National Energy Administration the network now has over twenty million charging points across the country.
The rapid expansion of charging infrastructure highlights China’s commitment to clean transportation and its role as the largest EV market in the world. In just eighteen months the number of charging points doubled from ten million to twenty million reflecting an unprecedented pace of development.
The network includes both public and private chargers with approximately four point seven million available for public use and over fifteen million installed in private locations. The average power of public chargers has increased to forty six point five kilowatts allowing for faster charging times and improved convenience for electric vehicle owners.
Highway coverage has also reached impressive levels with more than ninety eight percent of expressway service areas equipped with charging stations. In addition, nineteen provincial regions now ensure that every township has access to at least one charger.
This massive network not only meets the growing demand for electric vehicles but also strengthens China’s position as a global leader in sustainable transportation. The expansion demonstrates the country’s determination to provide reliable and accessible charging infrastructure to millions of electric vehicle drivers.
