A Bengaluru resident recently shared his experience working as a part time Rapido bike captain for four days giving readers a realistic view of gig work earnings. He worked mainly at night to take advantage of Rapido's night fare incentive which adds extra pay between ten pm and six am. Over the four days he rode for about four to five hours each day covering roughly two hundred kilometers. His total earnings before expenses were around two thousand two hundred rupees. After accounting for approximately four hundred rupees spent on petrol his net income came to around one thousand eight hundred twenty rupees. His highest earning day brought in seven hundred fifty rupees for five hours of work showing how timing and incentives can make a difference.
