Bajaj Chetak C2501 First Ride Review and Real World Impressions

The Bajaj Chetak C2501 brings the iconic Chetak design to a more affordable electric scooter segment in India. On the first ride the scooter feels light and easy to handle with its compact dimensions and metal body that provides a solid and premium feel. It is powered by a 2.5 kWh battery paired with a hub mounted motor that delivers smooth and linear acceleration. While the claimed range is 113 kilometers in real world conditions riders can expect around 90 to 95 kilometers depending on traffic and riding style. The scooter charges quickly with a 0 to 80 percent charge taking around two hours and twenty five minutes and a full charge taking nearly four hours.

In city traffic the C2501 performs well with a top speed of 55 kilometers per hour that is adequate for urban commutes. Switching to Sport mode slightly improves throttle response making it easier to navigate busy streets. The scooter is nimble and predictable in handling and the suspension absorbs most everyday bumps with reasonable comfort. Braking is effective with a front disc and rear drum setup while the lower seat height makes it accessible to a wide range of riders. Features such as a twenty five liter under seat boot color LCD display reverse assist hill hold and Bluetooth connectivity enhance everyday usability.
