Electric vehicle owners in India now have a simpler and more convenient way to charge their vehicles. Maruti Suzuki recently launched a unified EV charging platform called e for me that allows users to locate book and pay for public chargers as well as home chargers through a single app. This removes the need to manage multiple apps and makes the charging experience more seamless.
Tata.ev has also expanded its public charging infrastructure significantly over the past two years increasing the number of public charging stations from around 5,500 to more than 23,000 by 2025. The network expansion includes highways urban centers and smaller cities making long distance travel more feasible for electric vehicle owners. Mahindra has introduced its ultrafast charging network named Charge IN with stations near Bengaluru and Delhi and plans to build 250 such sites with over 1,000 chargers by 2027. These ultrafast chargers can replenish battery levels quickly reducing waiting times for long trips.
