The November 2025 WorldSBK test at Jerez opened with an exciting first day as riders returned to the circuit to begin shaping their 2026 preparations. The atmosphere was intense with teams debuting new lineups, updated machinery and fresh ambitions for the season ahead. Andrea Locatelli delivered the standout performance of the day by setting the fastest lap with an impressive 1:38.641 on his Yamaha R1. His pace immediately positioned Yamaha as a strong early contender and sent a clear message that Locatelli is ready to fight from the very start of the new season.
Remy Gardner followed closely behind with a 1:39.026 which showed how well he has adapted and how competitive the GYTR GRT Yamaha package looks heading into 2026. BMW also demonstrated significant promise as Michael van der Mark posted a 1:39.043, placing him within striking distance of the leading Yamahas. The pace was tight at the top which added an exciting layer of anticipation for what the rest of the test could bring.
Xavi Vierge continued Yamaha’s strong run with a 1:39.170 while Xavi Fores delivered an impressive fifth place for Bimota. The KB998 immediately turned heads as Fores showed that the Bimota project is progressing quickly and is capable of mixing with the established front runners. Danilo Petrucci and Miguel Oliveira used the day to get their first laps on the BMW M1000 RR and both riders displayed solid pace as they adapted to their new machines.
Honda’s fresh lineup made its official WorldSBK debut with Jake Dixon and Somkiat Chantra completing valuable initial runs on the CBR1000RR R. Their times steadily improved through the day as they gathered crucial data for the development phase ahead. The mix of debutants and experienced riders created a dynamic testing atmosphere that kept every session engaging.
